Mosaic Area Collection

The ``Mosaic Area Collection'' panel is used to create, edit, save, and load mosaic cut line vectors. The panel is launched by selecting the ``Select Mosaic Area'' step on the main control panel.

The mosaic cut line vector outlines the area of the uncorrected image to be registered (during pre- and final registration). If no cut line is selected, the entire uncorrected image is registered.

The mosaic cut line vector can be collected in either the uncorrected or the georeferenced image window; however, once collection and editing has started in one window, it must all be done there. The mosaic cut line will be transformed according to the current GCP Model so that the cut line is displayed in both the uncorrected windows and the georeferenced windows. The transformed, or uncorrected cut line will be updated each time the model is changed.

Briefly, cut line vertex coordinates can be modified by clicking and dragging the left mouse button in the image window. Cut line vertices can be modified and accepted by clicking and dragging the right mouse button.

The ``Mosaic Area Collection'' panel contains a ``Vertex Editing'' area for operating on the current vertex. The vertex number field, and X coordinate and Y coordinate fields are editable. The action buttons perform the following functions:

The bottom of the panel holds the ``Accepted Vertices'' area, which is a scrollable list of the vertices in the current cut line. If one is selected, that vertex will become the new edited vertex.

The Mosaic Area Collection panel contains a pulldown ``File'' menu with options for saving and loading cut lines. When saving, it must be established whether the vectors are being saved in uncorrected image pixel/line coordinates (Save Uncorrected Vectors) or in georeferenced coordinates (Save Uncorrected Vectors). When loading, it is necessary to establish which window the vectors are to be edited. They can either be edited in the uncorrected windows (Load Uncorrected Vectors), or in the georeferenced windows (Load Georeferenced Vectors).
